A broad suite priced per seat, against a focused tool priced per account.
Featurebase is the most feature-complete tool in this comparison set. If you want surveys and a knowledge base sitting alongside your feedback board, from one vendor and behind one login, it covers more surface area than Upvoted does and there is no argument to be had about that.
The trade-off is the pricing model. Featurebase charges per seat, so the cost of the tool grows with the size of your team rather than with the value you get from it. For three people that is fine. The problem arrives later, and it is not really a budget problem.
Per-seat pricing changes who gets to read the feedback. The support lead who fields the requests, the designer who wants to see the wording people use, the engineer curious whether anyone actually wants the thing they are about to build: each of them is a line on the invoice, so each of them becomes a small decision. The predictable outcome is that two people have accounts and everyone else gets feedback second-hand in a Slack paste. Upvoted prices the account: Pro includes two seats and Max has no seat limit, so on Max the answer to "should this person have access" is always yes.
The other difference is where capability lives. Featurebase tiers its features across plans, which means the version you evaluate on a trial is not necessarily the version you will be using in three months. Upvoted has two plans as well, but the trial is Max, so you see every feature before you choose between Pro and Max.
If breadth is what you are buying, buy the breadth. Upvoted does feature voting, a public roadmap and a changelog, and it does not have a help centre or a survey builder hiding behind a toggle.
Compared on the things that do not change every quarter. For current prices, check both pricing pages, they move.
| Featurebase | Upvoted | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Per seat, cost grows with team size | Per account, not per reader |
| Cost of adding a reader | Another seat | Nothing on Max; Pro includes two seats |
| Scope | Feedback, roadmap, changelog, surveys, help centre | Feedback, roadmap, changelog |
| Feature gating | Tiered across plans | Pro and Max, and the trial is Max |
| What the trial shows | The tier you are trialling | The whole product |
| Internal vs public votes | Standard voting | Collaborator votes separated from public |
| Getting started | Free tier, then per seat | Free trial of Max, then Pro or Max |
Featurebase is a wide product: feedback, roadmap, changelog, surveys and a help centre, priced per seat.
Feature voting, a public roadmap and a changelog, from one account.
The import covers boards, posts and vote counts, which is the part that took you months to accumulate. What does not come across is anything Upvoted has no equivalent for: survey responses and help-centre articles live in a different shape and are better exported to their own home than forced into a feedback board.
Worth doing before you move: count how many people you actually want reading feedback rather than how many have seats today. Teams on per-seat plans have usually trimmed that list to fit the invoice, and the list you would pick freely is the one to plan around.
The 7-day trial includes every Max feature, so you see the whole product before choosing a plan.
